					<description>Sick Puppies indeed!

These guys are from my neighborhood, Mosman, a northern beaches suburb of Sydney, Australia.

They seem to have started out as an “indie rock” garage band that nobody had heard of, yet with the very cleaver use of tools like YouTube, internet obsessed media, and a very cleaver idea started by Juan Mann, they made a meteoric leap to global fame and it sounds like they will if they are smart, a fortune too.

The band was formed by singer/lead guitarist Shimon Moore and bassist Emma Anzai in the music room of Mosman High School in 1997 and boy have they come a long way in the last few years!

For a previously unheard of Aussie band of kids just out of college, the Sick Puppies have come a long way very quickly, and are now based out of LA in the USA.

They have a good, simple, clean rock sound, easy drum rhythms, guitar, and vocals that draw you in and plug into that part of your cerebrum that says “yes, this is good, give me more” ;-)

For those of you who think I’m perhaps going too far might want to take a moment to cruise over to their MySpace page where you can get a taste of the Sick Puppies in hi fidelity format, at the following URL:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&#38;friendID=22931282

The band’s official web site has a lot more of the story to tell, including the news of their latest Australian “national” tour ( quaintly named the “long awaited comeback tour” ), check it out at:

http://www.sickpuppies.net/

For the full down and dirty according to Wikipedia ( we are not a fan of Wikipedia but this is a pretty good page – but the folk at Wikipedia have lost the plot and we are not a fan of them, did we mention we don’t like the editors of Wikipedia? ):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sick_Puppies

Harmony In My Ears has a short posting about them here:

http://harmonyinmyears.blogspot.com/2006/10/sick-puppies-singles-all-same-my-world.html

Popular web site CDbaby.com sells some of their music:

http://cdbaby.com/cd/sickpuppies

LiveGuide.com.au have their tour dates:

http://www.liveguide.com.au/liveguide_tours.html

And finally, there’s a whole swag of YouTube links worth checking out ( even though YouTube’s now owned by the evil Google * grin * ):

Their promo video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zowo11w0d4E

The now infamous Free Hugs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4

And the rest? Go search for ‘em yourself ;-)

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=sick+puppies&#38;search=Search

Cheers,
